
Brandon Hynes is an associate in the Michigan Practice of the Dewey Square Group. With experience in political campaigns and non-profit/issue work, Hynes executes winning campaigns for various political, corporate and progressive non-profit clients.
Prior to joining DSG, Hynes worked in Field and Communications for the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, as a Clinic Escort Coordinator for the Michigan affiliate of NARAL: Pro-Choice America and as the Volunteer & Leadership Development Coordinator for Affirmations, Michigan’s largest LGBT organization.
Hynes has worked on state, local and national campaigns—with concentrated focus in the state of Michigan, most recently with Dave Bing for Mayor of Detroit. Hynes worked in finance for Congressman Gary Peters (D-MI 9), and managed the successful campaign of Dian Slavens for State Representative, both seats which had been held by Republicans for over 20 years.
During the 2008 Presidential Primary, Brandon worked for the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign in the early Caucus states of Nevada and New Mexico, and in the Ohio Primary. He was the youngest elected Delegate to the Democratic National Convention (‘08) from Michigan.
An active member of the Michigan Democratic Party, Hynes has served as a member of the Executive Committee and is the Vice Chair of the Youth Caucus. He was also President of the statewide Federation of College Democrats.
A native of Metro Detroit, Brandon is a member of the Intermediate Council of the Detroit Athletic Club, Fusion: Detroit Regional Chamber Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs, the Junior Executives of the Detroit Economic Club, the Founders Junior Council of Detroit Institute of Arts and a board member of the Triangle Pride PAC.
