Joe Maloney draws on his corporate, legislative, and political experience to offer Dewey Square Group clients a diverse skill set gained from experience working both inside and outside of the nation’s capital.
Maloney began his career on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to Rep. Peter Deutsch, handling a number of domestic policy issues while coordinating the office’s appropriations requests. He joined the John Kerry Presidential Campaign during the Iowa Caucuses as a regional organizer and was a key member of the team that engineered his primary victory. Maloney’s political career includes leading field operations on behalf of state, local, and national candidates in Florida, Iowa, Washington, Wisconsin, Georgia, Missouri, Connecticut, New York, and Ohio. Prior to arriving at Dewey Square, he founded and served as executive director of a victims’ rights coalition of more than 40 organizations based in Hartford, Connecticut in 2005.
Since joining DSG in 2006, Maloney develops strategic communications campaigns and advises clients primarily in the hi-tech and telecom industries. Maloney employs the complete range of in-house DSG services – from interactive and social media offerings to research and writing to grassroots and grasstops mobilization – to assist clients in navigating the new political paradigm shift in Congress and the Administration.
A native of Holyoke, MA, Maloney graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dickinson College, where he also played football.
