Lisa Mushaw

Lisa Mushaw, a principal at the Dewey Square Group’s state and local affairs practice, has more than a decade of experience in the public sector, as well as the entertainment and food and beverage industries, in the United States and abroad.  A former White House liaison to the US Department of Agriculture, Mushaw integrates her knowledge of both the private and public sectors to coordinate outreach campaigns and communications strategies with state and local governments, elected officials, and national organizations.  She also conducts third-party outreach and event management on behalf of DSG clients.

In 2001, Mushaw founded Millennium Tek, Inc. a company specializing in Information Technologies (IT) services, meeting management and event planning, and management consulting services to the federal government. As president she expanded the company’s portfolio and managed several contracts with  the US Department of Energy, the US Department of Homeland Security and the General Service Administration.

Mushaw also launched Treasures of Tuscany: An Epicurean Voyage, a one-week vacation with a twist – a cooking program where participants are given extensive exposure to Italian cuisine while discovering the physical beauty and traditions that are uniquely Tuscan.  The project offers “foodies” an opportunity to share and celebrate the cultural, personal and convivial rites that are the Tuscan Table, while basking in the charm of one of the world’s most exquisite and historic treasures.

During the second Clinton Administration, Mushaw served at the White House Liaison Office for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), helping to guide the decision-making process on senior-level political appointments to advisory boards and commissions.  Mushaw was quickly recognized by the cattlemen’s board, dairy board, and many other advisory boards for her ability to identify the needs of the advisory board and to reorganize and restructure the vetting process within the agency, ensuring timely nominations and appointments to the advisory boards.

A native of Reston, Virginia, Mushaw relocated to Los Angeles in 1990 after earning a degree in English Literature from George Mason University, where she worked at major entertainment companies, including Creative Artists Agency and de Passe Entertainment.
