
A principal of the Dewey Square Group, Lynda Tocci has earned a reputation as a highly-effective campaign organizer and manager with a winning record in the political, public and private sectors. With more than 20 years experience in strategic planning and campaign management, Tocci’s focus is on state and local government relations with an expertise in the development and execution of grassroots strategies.
Over her career, Tocci has developed and managed grassroots organizations for a variety of candidates including Senator Edward Kennedy, State Treasurer Shannon O'Brien, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senator John Kerry, Vice President Al Gore and President Barack Obama. She has also managed ballot initiatives in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Iowa, Oregon, Florida and nationally.
In 2008, Tocci served as director of Hillary Clinton’s get-out-the vote effort in New Hampshire, Tocci helped secure an upset victory for Senator Clinton in the Granite State. In the general election, Tocci returned to New Hampshire to direct the field organization effort for President Barack Obama and Senator Jeanne Shaheen, helping to secure solid victories for both candidates and the democratic ticket.
In 2004, Tocci managed the Massachusetts office for Senator John Kerry’s Presidential Campaign. The office served as a national voter contact operation and volunteer export center and was responsible for identifying more than 2.5 million voters through persuasions, door-to-door visits and telephone calls. That year, Tocci also directed Kerry’s successful get-out-the vote effort for New Hampshire - the only state won by Bush in 2000 but not 2004 - for both the primary and general elections.
From 1998 to 2002, Tocci served as Deputy Treasurer and Chief of Staff for the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s office. In this role, she managed the State Treasury’s operational budget of $6.7 million and a staff of 65. Tocci represented the Treasurer on the Board of Bank Incorporation reviewing mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations of banks and holding companies.
