Matt Rodriguez


Matt Rodriguez is a Democratic strategist with more than 11 years’ experience for a variety of Democratic candidates and causes.  Most recently, Matt served as the Western States Regional Director for the Obama for America campaign.  During the 2008 primaries, Matt was the State Director for the Obama campaign in New Hampshire.

Matt got his start in politics as a press aide to the former House Democratic Leader Richard A. Gephardt in 1997.  He later served as Congressman Gephardt's Political Action Committee Director in 2002 and the Deputy Political Director on his 2004 presidential campaign.  Matt also worked for Senator Bill Bradley's presidential campaign in 2000, managed Senator Chris Dodd's reelection campaign in 2004, and successfully guided California Assemblyman Kevin de Leon's campaign in 2006. 

Before entering the political arena, Matt was a volunteer teacher at a small Jesuit school in Roxbury, MA.  He lives with his wife Renée in Santa Monica, CA.
