
An associate in the Dewey Square Group’s San Francisco practice, Molly Weedn helps coordinate ballot initiatives, legislative campaigns and public interest campaigns focusing on statewide governance reform issues. Weedn has experience in media relations, statewide coalition building, earned media campaigns and providing strategic counsel to corporate/political/nonprofit clients. Weedn has worked on a variety of issues including redistricting, a woman’s right to choose, and same sex marriage.
Weedn rejoined Dewey Square Group in 2007 from Ogilvy Public Relation where she advised clients on media relations, event coordination, speaker outreach, and research. Weedn’s political experience includes communications and public relations work for the 2006 No on Parental Notification Campaign, The California Wellness Foundation’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Campaign and a statewide pension protection and public employee coalition.
Prior to working with OPR, Weedn was a member of DSG’s Sacramento practice, where she coordinated the direct mail and phone campaign, developed partnerships with statewide agencies and trained local labor groups and civil rights organizations for two statewide special election initiatives in 2005.
Weedn graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with honors and a minor in educational policy. She is currently earning her Master's Degree at the George Washington Graduate School of Political Management. Weedn is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
