Carissa Faña
Carissa Faña serves as an Associate in the Emerging Markets Practice at Dewey Square Group’s Washington office, helping DSG clients build and strengthen relationships especially in the Hispanic community and key constituency groups.
Faña has legislative and policy experience at the national and local levels. She has served as a Legislative Assistant for the Ranking Member of the House Small Business Committee, U.S. Rep. Nydia M Velázquez, where Faña managed a cross section of issues, including immigration reform, environmental policy, and telecommunications. She also and worked closely with Hispanic small businesses throughout the country.
Faña also served as the congresswoman’s liaison to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, providing policy recommendations through the Housing, Business and Economic Development task force, coordinating conferences and established working relationships with national and local Hispanic organizations.
Faña’s experience includes developing legislation, providing strategic public policy analysis and building coalitions with Capitol Hill and the country’s Hispanic community. Originally from Carolina, Puerto Rico, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Dickinson College.
