Ashley Etienne

Ashley Etienne is an associate at the Dewey Square Group in the Strategic Communications practice.  A Capitol Hill veteran, her experience also includes political campaigns at the national and state level.

Etienne was communications director for U.S. Rep. Al Green of Texas, coordinating media strategies for the congressman. From 2001 to 2004, she served as press secretary and legislative aide for U.S. Reps. Chris Bell and Ken Bentsen, working closely with national media outlets to increase their profile.

In 2004, Etienne served as the Democratic National Committee’s Southern Region Deputy Field Director, developing a coordinated campaign for the region. Early in the campaign cycle, she was press secretary for Congressman Bell’s re-election campaign.

Etienne began her career as a legislative aide at the state level in Texas, where she worked on the 2000 redistricting maps. She also successfully advanced federal legislation that increased healthcare funding, reservist pay and flood prevention infrastructure.
