Jua Johnson

Jua Johnson is an associate with the Dewey Square Group's state and local affairs practice. He brings both public and private sector experience to DSG.

In 2004, Johnson served as the director of African American Affairs for John Kerry’s presidential campaign, coordinating the day-to-day African American operations for the Kerry Campaign. Johnson also coordinated message materials for key campaign offices throughout the country.

In 2003. Johnson served as deputy director of African American outreach for the Democratic National Committee, where he helped develop strategic plans to mobilize African American voters for the upcoming 2004 presidential election.

From 1998 to 2003, Johnson was a senior producer for Black Entertainment Television (BET), managing live television specials and town hall meetings, including those featuring Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Television and the AIDS epidemic. Johnson also worked on the popular BET series, “Hits From The Streets.”
