Michelle Kucera

A principal at the Dewey Square Group, Michelle Kucera is a veteran political and communications strategist with more than 12 years of experience in public affairs.

Kucera has managed multi-state campaigns and served as a senior advisor to national and statewide political and advocacy campaigns. From 2003 to 2006, she served as deputy assessor for communications in the Office of the Cook County Assessor.

Kucera was communications director for the Texas gubernatorial campaign of Tony Sanchez, managing the communications office and providing strategic counsel to the campaign. For the 2000 election, she was press secretary and spokesperson for Tipper Gore, working with national, international and regional media outlets.

In 1998, Kucera was press secretary for the gubernatorial campaign of Florida Lt. Governor Buddy MacKay. Prior to that, Kucera was deputy press secretary for the Democratic National Committee.

Kucera has also worked with private sector companies, organizations and philanthropic foundations to build partnerships and create and execute media strategies.
