Stephanie Markiewicz
A principal at the Dewey Square Group, Markiewicz heads the firm’s federal government relations practice. With more than 20 years of experience in public policy advocacy, Markiewicz represents DSG clients on a diverse range of policy matters and legal issues involving the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.
Principal areas of focus have included telecommunications and high tech policy, appropriations, transportation and public infrastructure project development as well as international law and foreign policy. Most recently, Markiewicz served as Vice President of Congressional Affairs for AT&T, where she was the corporation's lead advocate for the House and Senate Democratic Leadership.
From 1993 to 1998, Markiewicz served as a senior legislative attorney in the Public Law and Policy Practice of the Washington, D.C. law firm, Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP, representing governmental and corporate clients on policy matters, including international law, telecommunications, economic development, transportation and appropriations.
Markiewicz also was director of federal relations for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority and deputy director for the Massachusetts Office of Federal-State Relations.
Markiewicz is an honors graduate of Boston College, where she majored in Political Science. She also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School.
