A seasoned media and political campaign strategist, Craig Sutherland develops communications and grassroots, and outreach strategies on behalf of Dewey Square clients.

Since 1998, Sutherland has managed DSG's Southeast communications practice out the firm's Tampa office. In this capacity, Sutherland designs and implements public relations and grassroots strategies that utilize television, radio and print advertising; as well as direct mail and earned media to generate public support for various high-stakes projects.

In his political career, Sutherland helped direct presidential, gubernatorial and U.S. senate campaigns in Texas, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania and several other battleground states. Nationally, he managed grassroots marketing efforts to attract and activate thousands of volunteers in the high profile debate over federal health care reform in early 90s. Marketing materials Sutherland developed for the health care campaign were featured on the cover of the national trade magazine Advertising Age.

Sutherland is also considered a major event management and promotion specialist, serving as the Communications Director for President Clinton's second inauguration in 1997. And, in 1991, he managed the media affairs for one of the nation's largest “welcome home” celebrations for American troops returning from the Middle East.
