Scott Simon of NPR hits 1 million Twitter Followers
The news this week from Scott Simon of National Public Radio says he became the first public broadcasting personality to reach 1 million followers on Twitter. Good news for Simon and NPR. That puts the "Weekend Edition" host just outside of the top 100 in tweetsville and got us to thinking about Twitter's top news personality (public or otherwise).
Drumroll, please.
Turns out George Stephanopoulos checks in at No. 54 with 1.27 million. Not too shabby.
Other news-based notables in the top 100 include Rachel Maddow (70th) at 1.21 million, Larry King (85th) 1.14 million and blogger Ana Marie Cox (88th) at 1.13 million.
However, like many others, they still might not be able to touch this. MC Hammer checks in with 1.4 million (35th).
