A Principal in Dewey Square Group’s California office, Justin leads DSG’s media relations efforts in the state. Justin specializes in crisis communications and long-term targeted communications strategies to advance legislative priorities.
In his most recent role as Chief of Communications for the United States Geological Survey in the Western United States, Justin worked extensively on water, climate change, energy and disaster preparedness and response issues in California and other western states. Prior to this position, Justin held leadership roles in the federal government managing complex global policy, government relations and communications initiatives. While working in senior roles in the U.S. Departments of State and Interior, he provided media and legislative counsel to four cabinet Secretaries, including Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Jack Lew and Sally Jewell.
Justin is experienced at managing congressional, state government and media relations for some of the most politically polarizing and technically complex programs in the world. While with the U.S. State Department, Justin served as a communications officer in Iraq and Sri Lanka.
Justin and his wife, Lissa, live in Roseville, California with their two sons. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.
