Tony Welch

Former press secretary for the Democratic National Committee, Tony Welch is a principal at the Dewey Square Group.

Welch has more than 17 years of experience in public relations/communications and newspaper reporting.

Before joining the DNC as the party's national spokesman, Welch made his career in Florida and served as the communications director for the Florida Education Association, the union representing 122,000 teachers and education professionals.

Prior to joining FEA, Welch spent four years as communications director for the Florida Democratic Party and in 2000, worked with presidential coordinated campaign. Welch also worked in the administration of Florida Governor Lawton Chiles as communications director for the Florida Department of Health.

He began his career as a journalist for the Pensacola News Journal and the Tallahassee Democrat.
