With nearly a decade of experience running public affairs and grassroots campaigns, Ms. Shutzer serves as a Principal of the grassroots practice at the Dewey Square Group. Elise develops and oversees strategy for national grassroots, grasstops and coalition building campaigns. She manages state and local outreach, communications and development for corporations, trade associations, coalitions and non-profits. Elise also has an extensive political campaign background, most recently overseeing the Get-Out-The-Vote effort for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign in Nevada.
Prior to joining the Dewey Square Group, Ms. Shutzer worked in the Corporate Affairs division of Citizens Bank, where she executed programs in the fields of government relations, charitable giving and corporate communications. In addition, she was the recipient of the distinguished Rotary International Ambassadorial Fellowship to Madrid, Spain where she studied International Politics and Conflict Resolution. She was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.
Ms. Shutzer acts as Chair of the United Way of the National Capital Area’s Emerging Leaders Committee and sits on UWNCA’s prestigious Board of Directors and also serves at Co-Chair of the Board’s Governance and Nominations Committee. Elise is a native of Swampscott, MA, and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a double major in Diplomatic History and International Political Science.
