As COO of the Dewey Square Group, John Giesser oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. An attorney, John also provides strategic counsel to DSG clients and their leadership. Prior to joining the Dewey Square Group, John served as a CEO, COO, and campaign director in the corporate, non-profit, and political sectors. His experience includes management of organizations with annual revenues of $1 million to $300 million.
From 2007-2011, he was CEO of Spoken Hub, LLC, a premier grassroots technology firm he helped establish, diversify, and grow. Previously, he was CEO of retail electricity aggregator NEChoice, LLC, an early success story in New England’s restructured electricity industry. John’s career also includes service as the Democratic National Committee’s General Election Director and Deputy Director of the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, COO at City Year, the national service organization that was a model for AmeriCorps, and Executive Director of Keeping America’s Promise, the John Kerry-led PAC that directed over $13 million dollars to campaigns and causes during the 2006 election cycle.
From 1994 to 1997, John was Vice President at the Dewey Square Group where he advised corporate clients, non-profits, and campaigns. He was also an advisor to political candidates, serving as Senior Advisor to Senator John Kerry during his successful 1996 re-election campaign.
In his current role, John divides his time between DSG’s Boston and Washington, D.C. offices and resides in Massachusetts with his family.
