As the head of Dewey Square Group’s California Public Affairs Practice, Erin develops winning campaigns and strategic communications plans that position corporate, foundation and nonprofit clients for success.
She has led large-scale public affairs efforts for California legislative and regulatory initiatives designed to grow ridesharing and protect drivers’ privacy. Erin also provides expert messaging and outreach strategies that help clients communicate effectively about water use, sustainability, affordable housing, and other leading issues in California.
Prior to Joining the Dewey Square Group, Erin was a Senior Vice President at Spitfire Strategies where she led a wide variety of successful state and national advocacy campaigns for clients. This included developing strategies to secure passage of federal consumer protection legislation on issues such as banning unfair credit card fees and increasing the safety of children’s toys. She is a former press secretary and speechwriter for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Erin was the campaign manager for a coalition of national environmental groups that successfully passed the Restore Act—federal legislation to help repair the damaged Gulf Coast region following the 2010 BP oil spill. Erin was also the campaign manager for the Child Nutrition Initiative, an effort that helped drive passage of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, legislation designed to improve school meals.
Erin lives in Davis, California with her husband and sons. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
