Josh Lord is a principal at Dewey Square Group with a background in campaign management and strategic messaging.
Prior to joining DSG, Josh was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to serve as the Director of Legislative and External Affairs at California Volunteers in Office of the Governor, where he led legislative strategy.
Josh has over a decade of experience building strong campaigns, and started his career as an organizer for Issue 2 to restore collective bargaining rights for public employees in Ohio. After moving to California in 2012 to join Congressman Ami Bera’s successful campaign for the House of Representatives, he served as a finance director and campaign manager for several competitive congressional races in California. In 2018, Josh served as a political desk at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee independent expenditure, where he oversaw the party’s spending in more than 20 districts across the country, including six of the seven pickups in California. He is a graduate of Tufts University.
