A Principal in Dewey Square Group’s California office, Justin leads DSG’s media relations efforts in the state. Justin specializes in crisis communications and long-term targeted communications strategies to advance legislative priorities.
Justin creates and guides successful public affairs campaigns for clients ranging from Series A start-ups to larger Fortune 100 companies. He works on issues dominating the attention of media and the halls of government. Currently, Justin focuses on clients working on clean energy, cannabis, water, ride-sharing, and many other high-profile issues.
Justin spent over a decade at senior-levels of the Federal Government working on communications and government relations. At the Department of Interior, he worked extensively on water, climate change, energy and disaster preparedness and response issues in California and other western states. Justin held senior roles at the U.S. State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development advising on complex global policy, government relations and communications initiatives. While working in senior roles in the U.S. Departments of State and Interior, he provided media and legislative counsel to four cabinet Secretaries, including Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Jack Lew and Sally Jewell.
A former diplomat with the U.S. State Department, Justin has served as a communications officer in Iraq and Sri Lanka.
A Bay Area native, Justin and his wife now live in Roseville, California with their two sons. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.
