Maura McDonough is a Principal in Dewey Square's Communications practice, where she leads on strategic communications for issue advocacy campaigns.

Maura has supported and led successful integrated campaigns for clients across the public and private sectors. While based in D.C., she has worked on several state and national campaigns with an emphasis on California. Maura began her communications career at Dewey Square Group as an associate, and her other previous roles include director at Penta Group (formerly Hamilton Place Strategies), account executive at Edelman, and legislative intern at the United States House of Representatives. Through her varied background, Maura brings wide-ranging experience in media relations, issue advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and crisis and risk management.

Originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, Maura graduated from Georgetown University with a double major in Government and Sociology. She remains involved with Georgetown through Hoyas in Letters, an initiative that convenes alumni and undergrads in the writing and related media fields.
