Sacramento, CA – April 15, 2023 – The Dewey Square Group (DSG), a national public affairs firm, is excited to announce that Bridget Hennessey, former Vice President of Public Affairs for Weedmaps, has joined its California Practice as a Principal. 

Bridget works with fellow California-based Principals Anthony Fajardo Kusich, Justin Pressfield, and Melanie Slocum and she is establishing a new office in southern California.

Bridget provides clients with strategic business advice that utilizes her experience in government relations and develops equitable solutions to help clients advance their messages in complex and constantly changing media landscapes. DSG’s California team works tirelessly for their clients, and Bridget’s involvement in this new office will allow the team to further extend their unique capabilities throughout the area.

Bridget brings a deep expertise of California politics and a broad network of relationships with businesses, non-profits, and government organizations from her years of high-level work throughout the state. Bridget has managed government affairs for Weedmaps and San Diego’s North County Transit District, where she has coordinated outreach efforts at the local, state, and federal levels and ensured beneficial outcomes in both legislation and regulation. 

As a board member of Emerge America and the National Foundation for Women Legislators, Bridget has also provided mentorship, training, and resources to assist women candidates and elected officials in running successful campaigns to win elections and promote women’s representation in government.
